The lively chatter and friendly banter create an inviting ambience that transcends the plain decor, offering a genuine connection that many establishments lack today.

Denise's Cafe specializes in hearty breakfasts and mouth-watering burgers, making it the perfect spot for any meal of the day. The Ultimate Breakfast, priced at just £8.00, features an indulgent combination of three crispy bacons, three succulent sausages, fluffy eggs, black pudding, hashbrowns, mushrooms, beans, and tomatoes — a true breakfast of champions. Pair your burger with crispy chips for just £2.00, making it a perfect meal whether you're dining in or taking away.

The positive reviews from patrons highlight not just the quality of food but also the exceptional service. Michael Spain praised a delectable pastrami, cheese, and chutney sub, which shows the cafe’s versatility in catering to diverse tastes. Deborah L remarked on the camaraderie felt within the cafe, inspired by Denise’s genuine engagement and her commitment to using good quality ingredients in every dish served. Kitten Meridoc, a loyal takeaway customer, touted the timely delivery of piping hot food, emphasizing how Denise’s Cafe transforms the everyday quick meal into something remarkable.

For families, Denise’s Cafe is an excellent choice, offering generous portions for both adults and children. M N attested to the family-friendly atmosphere, noting how the kids enjoyed whippy ice cream as part of their meal — a lovely touch that adds to the overall delightful experience.

Despite some ongoing adjustments in the new space, such as heating challenges mentioned by Paul Evans, the positive vibes and fantastic food make Denise's Cafe a must-visit destination. As Tony Evans shared, while the decor may not yet be cosy, the food and the warmth of staff surely make up for it. So gather your loved ones and head over to Denise’s Cafe for a meal that you won’t just eat but will savor — a budding food journey in the heart of Penarth. Don't miss out on this unique local treasure!

Absolutely delicious food, had a pastrami, cheese and chutney sub, and my wife had a tasty bacon and cheese panini. Couldn't fault them at all, the owner is lovely, and she was training Val, who did a fantastic job as a trainee. We owe you some money, as we were undercharged, so will have to return to pay our dues! Thank you so much!

Visited recently, a 1st visit for me. The new premises at Atlantic trading estate are still work in progress so a bit “bland / flat” but the Very friendly welcome Denise the owner provides, engaging with us and making conversation - which is a rare thing nowadays - made it a great experience. Ordered full English breakfast which was good quality ingredients, a good portion, good value and arrived piping hot (except my sausages which were unfortunately cold). I would definitely recommend and will return especially for the home made brownies which are delicious.

I've never actually been there but I won't mark them down for that. I've always ordered as take away and I've NEVER been sorry. Food is always delivered on time or early and comes piping hot. I'm not a massive fan of take out. In most take out places the burgers taste like cardboard - overcooked, dry and lacking flavor and the rest of the food is often not better. It's fine for a quick meal if you don't feel like cooking but I'm rarely excited by the prospect. Denise's food is an example of take out done well. The burgers from this place actually taste flame grilled, they are juicy and tender. There's so much flavor. Their baguettes never come soggy, no matter what's in them. They are packed generously with fillings and always taste good. Their breakfast menu is delicious. It's a good size - generous without being overwhelming and again, the quality is high. My eldest son is quite picky when it comes to take out. He's not a massive pizza fan, is a picky eater in general, doesn't like burgers and so mostly will only eat chicken, chicken nuggets or a chicken wrap. It's just easier to cook at home for him. But he REALLY likes the baguettes from Denise's cafe. I think he'd even like more of the menu as well. When you eat from this place, you don't feel like you're eating take out, you feel like you're eating something home made (by someone who knows how to cook). Everything is made with care and is really really good. I've never had an issue with delivery times and everything is always packed with care. I don't drive or I'd definitely visit them and eat in. I think my mum would really like it. I am looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. It's a real treat to eat from here.

There’s nothing that gets the heart racing on this industrial estate quite like the sacred beep beep of Denise’s delivery food van. It’s our Pavlovian bell, summoning us from forklifts and spreadsheets alike. But it’s not just any beep. It’s the glorious trumpet that heralds the arrival of Steve, the man, the myth, the wrap wrangling legend. Steve doesn’t just bring food, he brings hope. An excellent selection of hot food and snacks that somehow taste even better when consumed while leaning against a skip in hi-vis. Whether it’s a bacon bap that could raise the dead or a hot wrap that hits the spot... Denise’s van is the spiritual centre of this estate. God bless the beep. God bless Steve. And God bless those snacks.

Excellent family business. Looked after four adults and four children really well. We all enjoyed our food and drinks at lunchtime. And the children enjoyed a whippy ice cream which was part of the children meal. Would recommend.

Food was great, it was Denise's birthday. Back end of room was like a building site, and it's not as cosy as the old place was, but it will be I'm sure. Very friendly, great food as usual. Highly recommend.

It is a lovely cafe, not the warmest of places due to very high ceilings and not enough heating to cater to the size of the premises. It is of a good size and can cater to around 40 people. The food was very good and a very good price. If I was going to be critical, which is what I am, I am critical, as I like people to know why they should or should not visit a place, in my opinion. The size of the food was plentiful, but as you will see by the picture, it does not show all the food on the plate. There were 3 rashers of bacon, 3 sausages, 2 hash browns, 2 eggs, black pudding (hiding), beans, mushrooms and separate toast, and a lovely cup of tea. A shame they don't use tea pots, so you can enjoy a couple of cups of lovely fresh tea. All in all, it is a lovely place to go for a nice hearty breakfast with good service and a lovely atmosphere.
